Since Holzer became the first living American woman to represent the United States at the Venice Biennale in 1990, her Conceptual Artwork, which incorporates text in her mostly three dimensional work/ installations, multiples, has been presented around the globe including renown institutions like the Guggenheim Museum, The Centre Pompidou, Paris, The MOMA, NYC, Neue Nationalgalerie, Berlin.

What is Art About

“Art is not about skill”  if you ask conceptual Artist Lawrence Weiner, who played a key role in the early days of the movement in the 1960-s. Interviewed by Benjamin Buchloh for Phaidon‘s Lawrence Weiner monograph, he reveals his point of view(s). An excerpt of the interview I found on the artspace.com website.

Hope you enjoy, as I did.
